Blue Spruce, White Christmas?

img_0601Yesterday, after checking out M’s Uncle Rick’s new, soon-to-be-finished home, and a tasty lunch in Guilford, CT, we went to the Jones Family Farm to cut down a Christmas tree. This was C’s first time cutting down a tree, though M did most (all) of the actual cutting. We were in a bit of a race with the last of the day’s sunlight, but we found a beautiful Colorado Blue Spruce not long after we began our search.  We’ll post a photo of our prize tree when it’s up and trimmed, but it’s a beaut (if we do say so ourselves)!

Following the successful tree expedition, we came home to prepare an Argentinian supper for Sandy, Susan, Uncle Rick, and Aunt Ellen. M made a hearty gaucho sausage and lentil stew, complemented with an avocado lime salad, and thick crusty bread. For dessert, C made pineapple creme caramel. Delicioso!

It’s steadily snowing now in CT–unusual for this time of year. May have a white Christmas to match our Blue Spruce :)
Drive safely out there!
