DIY Microwave Popcorn

You will need:

1/4 cup popcorn kernels

2 tsp olive oil

1/4 tsp kosher salt (or superfine salt)

any other seasonings you want (AB suggests a dash of jalepeño seasoning)

paper bag

stapler

probably a good movie or two

 

Toss the popcorn with olive oil, salt, and any seasonings.  You can mix it up in your measuring cup, if you’ve used it to measure out your popcorn.

 

Toss it in the bag.

 

Fold the top of the bag over and staple the bag twice to close it.  AB assures us that two little staples will not be a problem in the microwave.

 

(We didn’t have a stapler handy, so I sewed it shut.  Thanks, trusty Singer!)

Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or until there’s about 5 seconds between the popping.

Open your bag carefully, pour into a bowl, and enjoy!

Easy peasy. 

 

*NB: We made a 1/2 cup of popcorn.  Adjust accordingly!
