I wanna be a shepherd.

True, we were blessed with exceptionally sunny weather during our time in New Zealand, but even if it were gray and raining the whole time, the grass would be just as green, the water just as crystal clear, and the people just a friendly.  We totally fell in love with the South Island, and would love to live there someday.  Make no doubt about it.  We will find a way there.  Oh yes.  We will.

Some photos from our visit to Walter Peak High Country Farm:

We had our BBQ lunch on the verandah of this beautiful homestead before the sheepherding portion of our visit.

Before the sheep shearing, we got to meet/feed the sheep, and also watched a sheepdog demonstration.  The two short-hair border collies were excellent at their job of herding the sheep, and they made the job of shepherding look easy.  Sheep shearing looks a bit more involved, but we’ll do whatever it takes to move to NZ.
