Makin’ Whoopie

Whoopie Pies, that is…

So it appears that whoopie pies are the new cupcake for left-coasters, and even though I am typically loathe to jump on trend bandwagons, I am always eager to try a new recipe.  These are ‘adult’ dark chocolate (60% cocoa) whoopie pies with vanilla-whisky filling.  I used this recipe for the cookie part, and this one for the filling (the whisky was my addition: 1/4 tsp vanilla + 1/4 tsp whisky, plus more splashes of whisky, to taste ;).  If I make them again, I’d go a bit easier on the powdered sugar in the filling.
